In his first outing in single seater racing, young K-Rex worked with his Pelfrey team mate in qualifying to lock out the front row, qualifying 2nd for race day. At the race start, Kaylen took the lead in turn one. For 12 laps he fought within the lead pack and led for 6 laps. On lap 12 whilst still leading, the 3rd place driver came into turn 12 too fast, and struck K-Rex from the side. Impact and wheel contacts caused Kaylen’s car to lift 6 feet and roll twice in the air before landing against the barriers and finishing upside down on the track. Thankfully, Kaylen climbed out unhurt, yet with resolve for better outcomes and eager for the next race.
